These days’ people seem to be talking about the end of the world quite often. For thousands of years people have been predicting the last days.  One day in particular now is December 21, 2012. We cannot live in fear that the world will end on this date. If a person is a Christian, we have the Lords word in the Holy Bible to look to see what he says about the end of the world.

As believers, we know that the rapture or the taking out of the church can occur at any moment.
1 Corinthians 15:52 tells us that when the Lord comes back the “taking out of the Christians” will happen in a moment or a twinkling of an eye and when the trumpet sounds.  Those people who are deceased and in the grave will rise first to receive their new bodies. Then we, which are alive, will be taken out of this world and will enter into the Lords kingdom to be forever with him.

The rapture is an actual event that will happen. This is not the second coming of Christ. The second coming of Christ will happen in the future and according to God’s word, the second coming will not happen until the end of 7 years of tribulation on the earth. So according to God’s word, the end of world will not happen in 2012.  During the seven years of tribulation, – the Anti Christ will be a world leader.

According to Mathew 24: 4-8, things will happen on earth that will give us a sign that the coming of Christ is near. Jesus says “and ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars” that nations will rise against nations. There will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes on different places. Jesus said, this is only the beginning of sorrows for people on this earth.

A person might say, we have always had these signs. That may be true but it appears that these things are becoming more frequent. Now another issue is global warming. Our weather is gone crazy, like Mother Nature is upset with us. This is the Lords way of telling us that our sinful ways are not pleasing to him and his judgment upon this world is here.

Therefore, believers, watch for his coming and be ready. If you are not a Christian and want to live in heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ for eternity, then repent of your sins and be baptized with water in his name and receive the Holy Spirit.
